The original roleplaying game, Dungeons & Dragons, is making its way onto Facebook. Atari recently released Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of Neverwinter into open beta for everyone to play for free. Players can create their own heroes to begin adventuring right now!
The game currently features over 50 dungeons with over 40 monster types and of course plenty of spells to learn and loot to find. Players can even be a dungeon master and create adventures for their friends to enjoy (or suffer through).
Jim Wilson, President and CEO of Atari, Inc says that “Heroes of Neverwinter delivers a high level of depth, polish and authenticity that will fundamentally change the way players think of RPG gaming on social platforms.” I really hope that’s true because Farmville is not the direction I want RPGs to go.
