Thankfully, this is no April Fools joke. At least we hope not…
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that with work finished for The Three Stooges, the latest project from Peter and Bobby Farrlley, they’ve begin preparations to begin shooting an official sequel to Dumb and Dumber this September…and Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels will be reprising their roles from the original.
Mind you, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd is an official studio prequel, but that was done without the original team behind the helm. This time, both the stars and directors are back, with the script being written by Sean Anders and John Morris, who worked together on Hot Tub Time Machine.
While the project isn’t officially greenlit, it’d be pretty dumb, pun intended, for the studio not to go along with it.
