Duke Nukem 1 + 2 Available Now to Play on PC, Mac via GOG.com

GOG.com, an online source of DRM-free games for PC and Mac, announced the addition of Duke Nukem 1 + 2 to their collection of almost 500 old and new games.

Most recently known for its latest tongue-in-cheek release, Duke Nukem Forever, the franchise’s latest followers may or may not realize that the blond flat-topped and muscle-ridden narcissist has been kicking ass since the original and sequel’s respective 1991 and 1993 releases.

For only $5.99, you can now discover (or relive) Duke’s humble beginnings in all of its 2D glory with a bundle of both titles. Run and gun through three episodes of Duke Nukem and four episodes of Duke Nukem 2. Summing up to 30 levels of no-frills, 16-bit fun, the purchase price comes to half the price of a pound of Muscle Milk powder.

Play as the pixelated anti-hero and accomplish a different call of duty against Dr. Proton and his gang of Techbots in Duke Nukem. Suburban ruins, a surreptitious space setting, and the terrestrial territory he continues to defend lend to the games’ trademark landscapes. The animated icon’s promotional tour for his memoir, “Why I’m So Great”, is even interrupted by unwelcome space adversaries who intend to turn him into an unpatriotic servant in the Duke Nukem 2.

Check out some the side-scrollers screenshots below, and head over to Duke Nukem 1 + 2’s website  to pay up and play out Duke’s legacy.
