Today, Bandai Namco announced that Dragonball Xenoverse 2 will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC later this year. Xenoverse 2 is the direct sequel from last year’s Dragonball Xenoverse.
More details concerning Dragonball Xenoverse 2 will be revealed at this year’s E3 later in June. Supposedly, Xenoverse 2 builds off the foundation left behind by the original title, which included an MMO styled hub area and a substantial amount of character customization.
Bandai Namco even states that Xenoverse 2 shall feature “the most detailed Dragon Ball world ever developed.” Developer Dimps returns to manage the sequel.
The announcement for Xenoverse 2 came in the form of a trailer, which showcases what some of the environments in-game will look like. Just like its predecessor, Xenoverse 2’s story seems to deal with past and future events being corrupted once more. Familiar faces can be spotted throughout the trailer like Goku, Frieza, Bardock and more.
It also looks like players can once against customize their unique character. In Xenoverse, there were five races to choose from and hopefully, the sequel keeps that same number or adds more races to the pile.
“Outcomes you wished were different” ends the trailer before dropping the ominous 2016 time span. Perhaps events can be changed this time for better rather than worse? Maybe Bardock doesn’t have to meet his end at the hands of Frieza? We’ll find out more potentially at E3.
Yesterday, Bandai Namco and Toei Animation, which is the company responsible for animating the Dragon ball series and films, launched a teaser countdown site. The site has now been deactivated and instead, leads to the official website for Dragonball Xenoverse 2.
