Namco Bandai has announced their latest Dragon Ball brawler: Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (try saying that five times fast). Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z will expand on the popular series of Dragon Ball brawlers by adding four player co-op battles as well as massive eight player battle royales.

Check out the announcement trailer:

“The Dragon Ball franchise has transcended its original manga and anime roots to truly become a cultural phenomenon,” said Chris Gilbert, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Namco Bandai Games America Inc. “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z takes this storied franchise to the next level with its intense brawler action, crisp HD graphics, and expanded gameplay capabilities. Fans and newcomers alike will be able to enjoy this title and appreciate how the Dragon Ball Z universe is presented in the game.”

Story-wise, the game looks to encompass the Saiyan and Namek sagas as popularized in the hugely successfully manga and anime series…so expect a lot of over-the-top Super-Saiyan action featuring all your favorite characters including Goku, Piccolo andVegeta. Even if you aren’t a fan of the series, one can’t help but wonder at the possibilities of an insane eight player Dragon Ball brawl.
