Back at EVO 2017, Bandai Namco announced a Closed beta for their upcoming fighter Dragon Ball FighterZ. Considering the high demand of players wanting to participate, the developer has been working to allow as many players as possible to participate. They are also working to ensure the sign up and actual beta go on smoothly. However, with the added pressure the sign up date has been pushed to August 22nd.
The beta for the Arc System Works developed fighter will take place from September 16th to the 18th. Bandai Namco will split the beta in multiple sessions across the aforementioned dates in order to fix kinks as they go.
The beta will be available for PS4 and Xbox One. Players will have the opportunity to try the nine previously announced characters:
- Cell
- Cell Saga Gohan
- Frieza
- Future Trunks
- Goku
- Krillin
- Majin Buu
- Piccolo
- Vegeta
Expect Bandai Namco and Arc System Works to reveal additional details about the closed beta as September nears. Arc System Works will bring its fighting expertise to the table by adding a system similar to Arcana Heart’s Homing system called Super Dash and Guilty Gear Xrd’s Roman Cancel called Vanish or Dragon Rush.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently set for an early 2018 release for PS4 and Xbox One. For now, the game is only scheduled to release for the two aforementioned platforms, however if the demand is there, Bandai Namco is not against releasing it on the Nintendo Switch.
