Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Announced For PS4

Square Enix has revealed today that it will bring arcade fighter Dissidia Final Fantasy to PS4s all across North America early next year.

For those who haven’t heard yet, the sub-series, Dissidia Final Fantasy, is a fighting title featuring a plethora of characters from Square Enix’s fame RPG frachise. Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is the console port of the arcade fighter and will come with a bevy of console exclusive content such as the possibility to play offline and a new story mode written by the man behind the story of Final Fantasy XV, Kazushige Nojima.Players will have the opportunity to choose from over 20 familiar faces (characters and summons) from the long running franchise.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT has been developed thanks to a partnership with veteran fighting game studio Team Ninja; best known for the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises. The developers will also be bringing back Dissidia’s unique Bravery combat system to create chaotic 3 vs. 3 battles.

Square Enix also revealed that during next week’s E3, there will be a panel with Producer Ichiro Hazama, Director Takeo Kujiraoka, Justin Wong of Echo Fox and K-Brad at the E3 Coliseum on Tuesday June 13th at 3:15 p.m.. For those who can’t attend, the panel will be live-streamed on Twitch and Youtube.

The Dissidia series first saw the light of day way back in 2008 on Sony’s first portable: the PSP. The original version of the NT port is based on the arcade version which was released on November 26th, 2015.
