How long has Diablo 3 been in development now? Either way, Blizzard is incredibly hopeful that we will be seeing the game in store shelves by next year.
At today’s earning call, Blizzard President and Co-founder, Mike Morhaime, said that the company was pushing hard for a 2011 release date but they are yet to commit to a release date.
“There are a lot of moving parts in putting out a complex release like Diablo 3,” he said. “We talked about the new auction house technology which hasn’t been fully tested. We’re not yet in Beta, and really it’s just going to come down to when the game is ready for prime time.”
The Diablo 3 beta is slated to be available at the end of Blizzard’s third financial quarter, which will be ending on September 30th, 2011.
