Meet the PS4's Controller

Developers seem eager to make games for the PS4. Sony’s been showing off the PlayStation 4 to developers since before unveiling it to the public – which we covered in detail here – and it seems the devs can’t get enough of it, per this video released by the PlayStation Blog. Specifically, they’re excited over the DualShock 4, the PS4‘s new controller, which not only has a front touch pad – similar to the PS Vita‘s setup, only flipped – and revamped joysticks, but also kind of looks like a happy crab.

It’s best to take all of this with a grain of salt for the moment, though… developers went gaga over the Nintendo Wii U‘s hardware and controller, and we all know how that turned out, now don’t we?

Still, it’s a little exciting to know we’re on the verge of a new console generation, especially now that we know when Microsoft is telling us about the next Xbox. Hopes are high among fanboys and casual enthusiasts alike, as we prepare to send the Xbox 360 and PS3 to join the Wii – and recently, the Nintendo DS – at that great console retirement home in the sky.

So take a look at the below video, watch the people who make video games get excited, and get a little excited too.
