Destiny Grosses over $325M Worldwide In First 5 Days

Destiny is officially the best-selling new franchise launch of all time. It’s been announced by Activision Blizzard that Destiny has sold through more than $325 million worldwide in its first five days. Despite how many feel about Bungie’s latest epic, the sign of a new IP performing this well is always good news for gamers and the gaming industry. According to Bungie, Destiny players logged more than 100 million hours of online play by the end of the first week and participated in 137 million activities.

Bungie is not done with Destiny despite the promising launch, Destiny is an ever-changing landscape and according to Eric Hirshberg, “this is just the beginning. Destiny is a platform that will grow and evolve and we will continue to work closely with our partners at Bungie to bring a long line of new experiences and content to life in the game.”

Destiny has a bunch of special events lined up for September. Be sure to check out The Game Fanatics coverage on the special events coming soon.
