As we get closer to the highly anticipated E3, we are starting to get confirmations that certain high-profile games will definitely be at the show. But one of those games will not be Hideo Kojima’s new project, Death Stranding.
Speaking from his Twitter account, Kojima confirmed that his next big game starring Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen would not be at the gaming expo, either at a conference or in playable form, stating his team is fully dedicated to its development.
There is a small silver lining to this story. While Death Stranding will not be at the show, the acclaimed Japanese auteur will be appearing on Geoff Keighley’s E3 Coliseum Show, so there is the possibility of more details about the game being discussed as part of an interview.
Any new information will be appreciated because, despite two trailers depicting war, babies turning into black liquid, weird scars, and skeleton people in army gear, we really don’t know much about the game itself. There are a lot of details that can be inferred from interviews, little visual cues in said trailers, and the very fact that legendary monster movie maker Guillermo del Toro is on the project in some capacity.
Well, there’s always next E3.
