Crystal CG, a digital imaging company whose most famous work you’ll probably recognize from the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, is about to close a licensing deal with Crytek, the developers behind Crysis.
There’s no doubt that if you know a thing or two about the videogames industry, then you’ll have definitely heard of the CryENGINE, the powerful game engine behind the graphical monster games of Farcry and Crysis.
Crystal CG plans on using the CryENGINE 3 for different purposes though. They believe that with the CryENGINE 3, they’ll be able to cut production time while making their projects more impressive than ever.
“When we saw the first results from Crystal CG’s work with CryENGINE 3,
we were blown away. The combination of the incredible talent and our
all-in-one real-time development solution not only ensures brilliant visuals
but also a very smooth workflow. We are really looking forward to seeing
more from Crystal CG,” said Carl Jones, Director of Global Business
Development – CryENGINE.
Considering how awesome the opening ceremony for the 2008 Olympics was, I wouldn’t be surprised if Crystal CG churned out something even more awesome for 2012 with the help of the CryENGINE.
