Most Creative Ideas From CES 2017 | Fanatical Five

most creative CES 2017

The Computer Electronics Show is a place where the best and brightest in the tech world meet to show off their newest tech to the world. Along with many consumer products scheduled for release, concepts are shown off that give us a peek into what could be the future. Rounding out our coverage of CES 2017, here’s our picks for the most creative tech shown off at this year’s show.

Hyundai “Mobility Vision” Driverless Car

Hyundai most creative of CES 2017

While the idea of a driverless car may not be innovative or unique at this point, (who could have imagined that would be a sentence we could actually say?!) what Hyundai has imagined is crazy but dripping cool. With their vision, they wanted to know how the car of the future could blend in with the home as one cohesive unit. Your car would dock into the building while one side of the car would open creating a tiny breakfast nook type design. The design looks very sleek if not more than a bit ambitious. The reality of something like this happening is slim but it does open up possibilities for innovation down the road taking bits and pieces of the design elements.

Aria Smart Glasses

Aria smart glasses most creative CES 2017

Aria, a US-based startup, has looked to create a way to assist the blind with everyday tasks using a pair of smart glasses based on Google Glass. The glasses connect to an assistant network of agents who will then be able to see what the blind person is seeing in real time to assist with navigation or other areas as needed. The glasses are not meant as a replacement for guide dogs, however they can be used in conjunction with them to assist with specific tasks like grocery shopping, traversing a busy city, or whenever a visual interpretation of surroundings is needed. Aria’s smart glasses are more than just a vision though, they are available now in the US as part of a subscription plan of 200 minutes including the glasses for $129 a month or 400 minutes for $199 a month.

Mangoslab Nemonic Printer

Sticky notes are both extremely useful and extremely annoying, great to remember a quick note, but bad if Gary down the hall scribbled instructions and you cannot make out a single word of it. Fret no more! With the Mangoslab Nemonic printer you can print out notations, pictures, or anything directly onto a sticky note. The mini Bluetooth device uses thermal black and white printing which connects to a mobile app, letting you print text or images on adhesive sticky notes. The paper cartridges come in five colors costing around $4 for 200 notes. The printer itself is available the first half of the year for $120.

PK Vitality K’Track Glucose Monitor

Glucose companion watch most creative CES 2017

The PK Vitality K’Track can check the sugar levels without the pain of finger pricking making the user bleed. The monitor uses micro-needles that are only 0.5mm long. According to PK Vitality, this is not deep enough to draw blood, but enough to access fluid that contains the body’s glucose levels. This is all maintained inside a very nice looking wearable device that functions with a touch of a button. For those with the need for constant monitoring this is a fantastic advancement in controlling blood glucose levels.

Panasonic’s Companion Projector

Panasonic companion most creative CES 2017

I am sure many of us at some point in our life had wished we had our very own R2-D2 and now you can!  I mean it may not be expressive beeps, however the Panasonic companion projector will wheel around you and chat as well as project video content directly onto your wall. The currently nameless device is just a proof of concept for the time being but it could very well signal the direction our smart home assistants are heading, and frankly that would be pretty cool!
