Get your trigger fingers ready, because Valve has announced an August 21st release date for the much-anticipated Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The game is set to be available on PC and Mac (via Steam) as well as on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade for a tidy $15.
CS:GO builds on the classic Counter-Strike formula that was established – astonishingly – almost 13 years ago with CS beta 1. The game offers up new maps, characters and weapons whilst also making updates to classic Counter-Strike content. As you’d expect, the game also comes with more modern trappings such as matchmaking, achievements and leader boards.
If you’re one for fast-paced, reflex-heavy shooters, then Counter-Strike: Global Offensive might be worth checking out. Just remember to leave your auto-aim at the door.
