Countdown to CES 2011

As the holiday season wraps up, it’s time for all of us to jump-start the coming new year with a bang! That also means it’s nearly time for us to cover every aspect of the first big event of 2011.

Starting January 6th, it’s time to check out the newest innovations and releases in console, handheld and computer-based video games straight outta Vegas during the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, along with other major technology and related products in the works for consumer market share.

CES officials regularly provide a gaming showcase area for new products and game releases, and some of the big ones will (or can possibly) include major products like Nintendo’s 3DS, various new computer builds for gamers (remember the 11-inch Alienware notebook reveal?) and… possibly even the rumored PlayStation phone, would you say? Or even a PSP2, for that matter?

CES is a big deal, of course: many of the technology products we use every day got their start at CES, including BluRay, HDTV, CD players and even the original Xbox. A full list of notable products can be found in last year’s CES preview, along with other notes about the show’s history. Also be sure to leave a few minutes aside to browse your way across this year’s gaming showcase exhibitor list.

Be sure to check back every day of the show through January 9th for all the news and information regarding video game products coming from Vegas next week.
