Countdown to Bloodborne | New Details Emerge from PlayStation Experience

Approximately 100 days remain until the hotly-anticipated release of PS4 Exclusive Bloodborne but that’s not stopping us from getting super excited. It’s been a great month for Bloodborne as we got two big reveals on The Game Awards and PlayStation Experience, the ladder bearing the most fruit.

It seems that every reveal of Bloodborne thus far has carried an underlying theme; Gamescom being the focus on gameplay, TGS on co-op and with TGA and PSX on co-op, weapons and locations. Below you can check out the brand new gameplay trailer that debuted at PSX which showcases the Chalice Dungeon, a procedurally-generated dungeon located deep beneath the streets of Yharnum.

From the video, we can see a couple of new weapons and armor sets. We see a whip-like weapon that transforms into a very sharp cane or rapier, a bad-ass flamethrower that looks like it was made from a modified lantern, and what looks like a lightening saw-cleaver that the player uses against newly-revealed boss Hunter Gascoigne.

We also see a new armor set on one of the three players that show up to fight the boss and it looks very gentlemanly and light on defense. Hopefully this signals the return of classic Soul’s metagame; Fashion Souls. Miyazaki did confirm that customization is back and that it will be on the same level as Dark Souls 2. It’s also important to note that many journalists who previously saw Bloodborne months ago, stated that the game was running much smoother and the framerate looked like it was under control at a cool 30 frames per second.  We also know what the official boxart of Bloodborne looks like which you can see below.
