IGN Tech’s Justin Rubio reports that a FAQ for Comcast’s Xfinity on demand service coming soon for Xbox 360 reveals that the delivery of content through the service will be exempt from the customer’s monthly bandwidth cap. As reported by Engadget, Comcast caps residential bandwidth service at 250 GB per month. The FAQ, however states that “since the content is being delivered over our private IP network and not the public Internet, it does not count against a customer’s bandwidth cap.”
Comcast customers who subscribe to the Xfinity Internet Services, have an Xbox 360 Console, a gold membership and at least one cable box in the house that is connected to the Xfinity TV Digital service will be able to take advantage of the Xfinity service through their console. Its going to be integrated into the new dashboard and like many other existing services and new services to be added it will be Bing and Kinect compatible.
There has been no word of a release date as of yet.
