Civilization 6 Currently Has A Game-Breaking Bug

It’s the late game in Civilization 6. I’m getting restless and have decided to use my superior army to destroy my opponents.

Only…the game won’t let me sack any cities. Because it keeps crashing.

I’m beyond turn 300 and any attempt by one of my melee units to capture an enemy city results in the game completely crashing. Thankfully I’m about to win via culture, so my current game isn’t affected, but consider those who were planning to win via domination. Not to mention everyone else who’s suffering from this issue:

Some people have mentioned being able to exclude the Civilization 6 folder from Windows Defender as a fix, but I’m unable to have that be successful for me; the game still crashes when I try to capture a city.

For what it’s worth, trying to negotiate peace with someone I’m at war with is also causing a crash, possibly due to Great Works being transferred.

Guess for now I’ll take it as a sign to relax on the military operations and just travel to Mars. Or spread religion. Or grow culture. Or just use nukes before winning.

I think I’ll use some nukes.
