Child of Light, Ghost Recon Phantoms, The Crew, and More in Ubisoft's PAX Lineup

If big conventions are like Christmas for the gamers lucky enough to attend them, then the press releases companies send out are like peeking into parents’ closet to see what you’re getting—as tempting as it is, it takes a little bit of the magic out of the big reveal, and just makes the wait all the more excruciating.

That said, Ubisoft has announced what they’re going to be showing at PAX East 2014.

They’ll be running two booths, numbers 824 and 836. One booth appears to be focused around their AAA titles, headlined by a Watch Dogs demo and offering t-shirts for preorders. A similar deal will be on offer for their open-world racing game The Crew. The booth will also feature live BMX tricks in a tiny skate ramp to promote Trials Fusion.

The other booth will focus on upcoming Ubisoft digital titles, including Child of Light, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms, the new expansion for the Might & Magic Duel of Champions card game, and The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot.

Ubisoft is also bringing The Next Level, their competitive casual gaming competition modeled off of PAX’s own Omegathon, back from PAX Prime 2013. This time, Ubisoft is touting the involvement of celebrity coaches like Stephanie “MissHarvey” Harvey, Jonathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel, Meg Turney and Scott “SirScoots” Smith. Unlike the Omegathon, the competition will be run three times over the course of the event, once per day, with the winner taking home what Ubisoft describes as an “ultimate gaming package” and their coach getting $5000 donated to their charity of choice.

PAX East 2014 will be held April 11—13 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. But if you’re reading this, either you already knew that or you’re out of luck, because the event is sold out.
