Chernobylite Get’s a Release Date

Chernobylite reactor core

Chernobylite is a survival horror title from the team at The Farm 51 set in a more sci-fi horror world after the Chernobyl disaster. The game mixes elements of horror, stealth, role-playing, and exploration. It takes a nonlinear approach to storytelling. The choices you make are not always straightforward and can affect the landscape of the game. In some ways, it reminds me of the Fallout games mixed with the Metro series. The game was first announced in 2019 and went into early access sometime last year. The most recent news says that the game will release in July of 2021.

In Chernobylite, you play Igor, a physicist, and an ex-employee of the Chernobyl power plant, trying to uncover the mystery of the disappearance of your fiancé. The game is set 30 years later and you are still trying to get closure. There is still a ton of information to uncover about your past and the world around you. This is not the more grounded Chernobyl that many have come to know. There are creatures that are a part of this world that was created by the explosion 30 years ago.

There will be various characters that will help you along your quest. Some companions may provide weapons and resources while others will help to improve various skills and traits. From all of the footage that is available at this point, the game is shaping up to be really impressive.

If this is your type of game, be sure to check out some of the previews and footage that are out there. Also, check out the Chernobylite Youtube channel. If you want to get in early, jump over to Steam grab the game on early access for $29.99. When the game gets its full release, it will be available for PC, Xbox, and Playstation consoles.
