Bethesda has released a new trailer for Dishonored 2, focusing solely on protagonist Corvo Attano.
Corvo, who was the sole playable protagonist in the original, is one of two playable characters in the sequel, the other being his daughter Empress Emily Kaldwin. Dishonored 2’s story features these two characters as they attempt to reclaim the throne, which is rightfully Emily’s, from Delilah, the “otherworldly usurper.” Apparently Delilah wasn’t too happy with the progress that Dunwall has been seeing and would prefer a dark and dreary city instead of a bright and joyous one.
Dark and dreary also just happens to be a great way to describe the footage, which is promised to be 100% comprised of gameplay. The trailer shows us a world of tension, terror, and despair. It will be interesting to see how the game’s atmosphere and narrative matches up with its gameplay. Players are already on edge as they quietly sneak around the world in order to perform their assassinations. An environment to match that would be a great way to help the sequel stand out from the original game (which you may want to go back and play).
Dishonored 2 releases on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC November 11th.
