New Castlevania Officially Titled Mirror of Fate

It was nothing more than a rumor formed by speculations and tweets a few days ago, but now we officially have a new Castlevania announced for the 3DS. The rumor was sparked by David Cox who isn’t really known for being particularly quiet about what he’s working on.

The official title for the game is Castlevania: Mirror of Fate and it will be exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS handheld. Although the game can be seen in all of its glory on the cover of Nintendo Power, we hope we might still see a bit of it at this year’s E3 in a few days.

As stated earlier, David Cox is said to be on board as the producer along with Enric Alvarez as director for the new Castlevania. Cox had been hinting at something since this past April. In one tweet he stated that
Today and tomorrow I am in the land of Dracul… What am I doing there?? You will see…. :)
…which can be seen here. A few days ago when someone asked him “What can you say if I say “Mirror of Faith”? Cox replied with
I would say wrong end of the stick….misinformed. I would also say the truth is ALWAYS better than fiction! 🙂
…and this one can be seen here as well.

Everyone was hoping that what Cox was talking about was a sequel to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. And it is, but with a bit of a twist. Mirror of Fate is said to only be the starting move for a full blown true sequel to Lords of Shadow. With only a few days left before E3, we keep our fingers crossed to see if they reveal anything more about the game then.
