SO. MANY. GAMES. I’m having trouble keeping up with all these games! There’s Mass Effect, there’s Warframe‘s new update, Elder Scrolls: Legends is downloading now, and Hearthstone is about to drop dinosaurs into their card game. While I have an existential crisis about how I’ll never be able to play every single game ever made, here’s this week’s In Case You Missed It!
In Case You Missed Jumping Onto Some Bandwagons…
Here’s the next one. Good Old Games (GOG, for short) will be releasing their own desktop client in opposition to Steam. GOG Galaxy’s Update 1.2 is launching in April for all users, though you probably already got it if you signed up for early updates. This update gives users some extra customization options, Cloud Saves, and a hibernate mode to cut down on CPU usage. Valve may be getting some competition, finally.
In Case You Missed WWII and Call of Duty…
It might be happening as early as this year. A YouTuber has posted a video of leaked images from a new Call of Duty title that has not been announced yet. One reason to take it seriously is Activision’s own comments about taking the game back to its roots. I’ll link the video, so you can decide if it’s real or not.
In Case You Forgot Halo Was a Thing…
I certainly did, and it kind of looks like the Halo World Championships also forgot!

A little context is needed, though. These images are apparently the overflow tent, as the venue can only hold so many people. Still, you would think a million-dollar tournament would have some extra fanfare, eh?
In Case You Still Go to GameStop…
You might need to find a new one. GameStop is closing about 150 stores soon. Despite the launch of the Switch, their hardware sales have dropped nearly 30 percent. This does have something to do with the infamous “Circle of Life” strategy that was dismantled recently, as the aggressive promotions tie into the retailer’s decline. Still, the franchise is opening up some new stores, some with a focus on collectibles rather than games.
In Case You Thought Warframe Couldn’t Get Any More Stylish…
Time to turn up the beat. Warframe‘s Update 20 let loose a new Bard-inspired Warframe named Octavia, who can be obtained through a unique questline (and a bit of farming). Her animations were motion-captured via a dancer on their team, and players will get to be a bit creative as well. Octavia’s Mandachord can be altered to play a lot of tunes, so expect one part creativity and one part meme-ing.
That’s all for this week. Hope you all have fun with all your games and may RNGesus be ever in your favor!
