Cars, Bikes, and Boats – The High Action Driving in Sleeping Dogs

Illegal racing, action hijacking, and ridiculous stunts, oh my!

Square Enix sent a pretty exciting trailer our way, detailing how we’ll be able to get around in the city of Hong Kong. Sleeping Dogs boasts over 65 vehicles from cars to boats to bikes. You can leap from vehicle to vehicle using a somewhat familiar “action hijacking” system or partake in high-speed gun battles, the actual mechanics looks very intriguing.

Participate in illegal street races where money, girls and status are high-stakes rewards, taking on your challengers with expert driving and precision-placed ramming, sending any and all rivals into a well-timed spin.

[pullquote_left]In Sleeping Dogs, the streets are yours to take… how you get there is up to you.[/pullquote_left]Sleeping Dogs is being developed by the joint forces of United Front Games and Square Enix London Studios and boasts a visceral open world cop drama set in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. Gamers play as undercover cop, Wei Shen, as inside man attempting to take down one of the world’s most fearsome criminal organizations – the Sun Oh Yee triad.

Sleeping Dogs empowers players to perform an extensive set of martial arts moves, single-handedly taking on numerous opponents. Players perform bone-crunching kicks and combos, vicious counters and a cinematic set of environmental takedowns making use of countless real-world items from circular saws to phone booths, incinerators to refrigerator doors.

Sleeping Dogs is due out in the second half of this year and will be available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles as well as the PC.
