If you were one of the lucky few who didn’t catch the Twitch.tv streaming of the full game and roster, your interest may be salvaged: Nintendo has announced today that Super Smash Bros. 3DS will be playable via demo next week.
The announcement comes from an official Tweet from both Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe, both noting that the company will be releasing a demo of the game to 3DS consoles on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
It seems that the company is still moving forward with the idea of continuous promotion of the Super Smash Bros. 3DS, a fighting game featuring many Nintendo’s beloved characters and the first Smash Bros. game to be released on the handheld system.
As mentioned, Super Smash Bros. 3DS got hit with a few leaks this week, as two players have released some gameplay and the entire full roster of the game through Twitch.tv. There are concerns within the gaming community of whether this heightens or destroys the hype for one of Nintendo’s biggest releases for the 3DS console this year.
With the official North American release date of Super Smash Bros. 3DS still dropping on Oct. 3 and the Japan version releasing tomorrow, it can be concluded that such leaks are expected. Thankfully, it seems that we won’t have to wait too long to play the game, even if it’s just a demo. A free one, at that.
