Ubisoft announced today that they are indeed working on the next title in the Call of Juarex series. Call of Juarez The Cartel is being developed by Techland and it will be available this summer for the pc and “next-gen consoles.” Now here’s the kicker, the game will be set in the present time; bringing what we know to be a wild west run-and-gun game to a modern day urban environment. “As a first person shooter with an immersive and mature story, players can expect to embark on a journey like no other – one that will take them from the heart of modern day Los Angeles, California to Juarez, Mexico.”
“Call of Juarez The Cartel is an action-packed shooter game with a strong story, interesting characters and a wide variety of gameplay options,” said Caroline Stevens, EMEA Brand Director at Ubisoft. “The game will bring the best elements of the Wild West into modern times with a very gritty and relevant plot.”
Call of Juarez The Cartel is set to be revealed in the March edition of Electronic Gaming Monthly, and you can check out the cover for both the 360 version of the game, and EGM below.
