Call of Duty: the name itself demands attention, a certain level of respect, and there’s reason why.
Activision’s franchise that not only raised the bar for online gaming this generation, but nearly single-handedly created a gaming ecosystem. Now, the it’s time for their next step. The next-generation installment of one of the best selling franchises has been officially announced in Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Built from a completely new story, setting, cast and, most importantly, game engine that is said to redefine the series for the next generation, Infinity Ward put down the wild card, looked away from a Modern Warfare 4 and onto the new frontier of a new series.
Don Mattrick, president of the interactive entertainment business at Microsoft stated, “With Call of Duty: Ghosts, we have no doubt that our longtime partners, Activision and Infinity Ward, will raise the bar higher than ever before for this incredible franchise.”
Pre-orders for Call of Duty: Ghosts start today with the release date for both PS3 and 360 versions set on November 5th while the next-gen versions’ release dates have expectedly yet to be revealed.
