Marty O’Donnell, known for creating arguably one of the most famous video game soundtracks, Halo, is now suing Bungie for unpaid benefits that were promised in Bungie’s policy. He was recently fired from Bungie, the developer previously responsible for the Halo series and newly responsible for Destiny this September. O’Donnell worked for Bungie since the start of Halo back in 2000.
Since they have worked with each other for over a decade, it is assumed these grievances are fairly recent. Other specifics in O’Donnell’s lawsuit include O’Donnell claiming that his termination was “without cause” and Bungie gave no explanation to their actions.
Bungie denies O’Donnell’s allegations. It will be interesting to see where this disagreement leads in the future and what O’Donnell will do next.
Is it possible for O’Donnell to come back to Halo, as his music is so recognizable from his work on the immensely popular franchise? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
