Brook Vivid Wireless Controller is Perfect for the Switch

If you’ve been on the search for the perfect controller for the Switch, your search should end here. The Brook Vivid wireless controller has all the features you could ever want or need.

The look and the feel of the controller are great. I was sent the aqua color and it is bright and vibrant. The controller is pretty light considering all of the features it possesses. Depending on your preferences, this could be a good or bad thing. Inside the box, you get the controller itself, a phone holder that connects to the controller, a charging cable, and some cute, themed thumbstick covers. Even though this is marketed as a controller for the Nintendo Switch, it does have Bluetooth so it can be used for both mobile devices and PC. This is something small but I am happy to see that the Vivid controller is using a USB cable when it comes to connection and charging. I was pleased when I saw that the controller had the offset thumbstick layout. With this being more of a pro controller, we have some additional buttons and features at our disposal.

When you take a look at the back of the controller you will notice a switch and two additional buttons. The switch will allow you to put the controller in either ‘macro’ or ‘shoot’ modes. The ‘macro’ mode allows you to store up to 25 button presses over a 30-second period. This can be very useful in fighting games or other games that have a ton of combo-based combat. The ‘shoot’ mode increases the sensitivity of the thumbstick and that allows for more accuracy in shooters. This is a pretty cool feature that I have seen on other pro type controllers and very useful in competitive play. There is also a turbo button that can be tweaked to adjust how fast you fire in different games.

The controller does contain some of the features of the original controller like the six axis gyro sensors and the home button that wakes the console. If you are looking for the ability to scan your amiibos, this does not have NFC functionality. All of the buttons feel pretty good on this controller. The triggers have really good resistance and the thumbsticks feel really good when you press in on them. I like the face that you can change the intensity of the rumble feature as well.

When looking at third party controllers, you will not want to pass on this Brook Vivid controller. You can get your hand on the Brook Vivd controller HERE for $40 and that is a great price for all of the features that are included. If you’re like me and the Joycons are not your favorite, this is a great replacement at a great price.
