Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is Getting a Dose of Free DLC

Following the recent release of the Handsome Jack Doppelgänger Pack, Gearbox has announced that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will also be receiving the highly requested Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode in the near future.

In regards to the Handsome Jack Doppelgänger Pack, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel owners can expect another batch of items to drop within due time, specifically a campaign add-on, a second downloadable character, the standard level cap increase, and a few more incentives. Remember, each individual add-on pack will set you back $9.99, but you can always purchase the Season Pass for $29.99, thus saving a few dollars in your virtual wallet.

“Additionally, free updates to the game are currently in the works,” added Gearbox, “including a highly requested Ultimate Vault Hunter playthrough mode that allows players to go through the game a third time as well as reset campaign progress at any time.”

Similar to Borderlands 2, Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode will increase the difficulty of the base game by scaling all enemies in the region to the level of the highest player in the party. In addition to this, rare loot has an increase drop-rate, taunting players to finish up their first two playthroughs in order to track down some of the game’s best weapons and equipment. What’s odd however, is that the level cap increase has yet to be released, so gamers who have already maxed out their character(s) might want to hold off on Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode for now.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is out now on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
