Last month when Gearbox announced that they wouldn’t be working on a Borderlands pre-sequel they omitted that another studio would be (you sneaky sneaky Gearbox). In a recent potential leak from GamePointsNow.com, they claimed that 2K Australia, not Gearbox was working on it. It’s name, “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel” (real original guys) .
The Borderlands Pre-Sequel story:
It’s said to be set on Pandora’s moon Elpis, and Hyperion’s H-shaped base that can be seen up above in Borderlands 2.You will have the usual option of four different characters to choose from – Nisha The Lawbringer, Athena The Gladiator, Wilhelm The Enforcer, and Fragtrap (which is as it’s name suggests a more badass version of Claptrap). The four playable characters will follow the story as Johns’ (which is what a young Handsome Jack goes by) lieutenants, that aid him in his rise to become infamous by hunting down an alien artifact.
Borderlands Pre-Sequel New additions:
Some rumored, new things you can look forward to in this new Borderlands are cryo guns, laser weapons, low gravity, jetpacks, and oxygen dependency (things you can expect with a lunar setting). The biggest changes will be managing the oxygen dependency that will be lootable via OX-Kits, also a low gravity setting that will require you to get around via jetpack.
It’s said that this new title is only to be released on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Still while current-gen systems outnumber next-gen almost 8-1, with so few games out on next-gen consoles we can’t help but think a port would be wise.
None of this has been officially confirmed leaving us to believe this is a pretty juicy Pre-PAX East leak.
