Developer of the video game Boondock Saint’s Critical Mass won’t be taking the easy road to bring the heavy cult favorite film to the gaming medium.
G4 spoke with president and CEO Matt Scibilia about the thought process and path his team will take the gritty violent crime franchise.
“We don’t want to do a crap-ass franchise game,” Scibilia said. “We’re staying true to the content. We’re looking to expand the story, not just retell the franchise.”
“The Boondock Saints characters are so strong — the banter, the relationships between Rocco and the brothers, the Catholicism, that will all be featured in the game,” Scibilia said. Critical Mass is planning a motion comic to accompany the game as well.
Critical Mass will be showing off the game at various events this year, with no solid window given for what will be on the PC, Xbox 360 and possibly PS3.
