Bloodstained for Wii U Cancelled, moved to Switch

Another future Nintendo Wii U game has gotten the ax and is instead going to be for the Switch.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was a kickstarter game by developer Inti Creates. It was going to be released for the Wii U, but with the Switch out they decided to cancel the Wii U version and just go into the Switch.

No other platforms have been affected.

The news about this change was released this week on Bloodstained’s Kickstarter page. Director of Inti, Koji Igarashi, explains that the production on the Wii U was axed because it was “difficult to receive the necessary support from the hardware maker.”

Seems the Wii U is just an afterthought now after the Switch release since this not the first game to leave for the new system.

For people who backed Bloodstained on Kickstarter might be upset because the Wii U port was the stretch goal. For those people, Inti Creates is offering a few choices; the easiest being is that they can get it on the Switch.

From what it looks like from the site, the current system will automatically transfer Wii U orders to Switch, so if you get the Switch there is nothing you have to do or worry about.

The second option is moving your order yourself to another platform it is available on, but if none of these options work for you Wii U backers can get a refund of their pledge.

Visit the Kickstarter page here if you did sign up for the Wii U copy so you can see a more in depth look at your options for this sudden change.

This will most likely not be the last time you will hear of a Wii U game getting cancelled for it looks like the start of the Wii U becoming a thing of the past.
