Black is the New Black for Nintendo 3DS XL

Nintendo has released a few advertisements indicating that they’ll be releasing the 3DS XL in black come August 11. The new black 3DS XL will be joining the host of existing colors: blue, red and pink.

The new Mario and Luigi title also happens to be releasing on the same day, so gamers who do not already own a 3DS or want to upgrade to a 90% larger screen in black can pick up Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.

The 3DS XL in black will be priced at the existing pricepoint of $200 and will sit comfortably next to its blue, red and pink brethren. No word yet on when the 3DS XL in black will be releasing elsewhere besides North America on August 11, or any other date for that matter.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team follows both Mario and Luigi as they have to work and interact with one another when Luigi is asleep or in the real world. Interacting with Luigi while in the dream world will affect things in the real world and boss battles will span both screens simultaneously.
