Bethesda to Live Stream Vault-Tec Workshop DLC for Fallout 4

The Vault-Tec Workshop, the next bit of Fallout 4 DLC, will be released later on this month. The good news is that you won’t have to wait for it to be released to get a good look at it; Bethesda is going to showcase the new content in a live stream on Twitch.

It will be shown off tomorrow, July 12th, and will give fans a chance to see some of the details of what they will be able to do with the expansion. The price is set at $5, a modest price compared with a lot of expansions. It will allow players to build their own vault, and kit it out with items, appliances, and of course inhabitants. On top of this the workshop will allow players to conduct experiments on the inhabitants of the vault, a crazed apocalyptic Big Brother scenario that will no doubt bring out the more mischievous and vindictive fun of playing god in the wasteland.

Bethesda’s official description of the expansion is as follows:

“Build a brighter future underground with the all-new Vault-Tec Workshop. Create a massive vault and attract new dwellers using pre-war industrial kits complete with retro-nostalgic furniture, lighting, and art. And like every good Overseer, run Vault-Tec approved experiments on your dwellers to learn what makes an ideal citizen. Vault-Tec has given you the tools, the rest is up to you!”

It’s an interesting proposition, and one that expands on Fallout 4’s campaign in a different way. It’s the sort of addictive pitch that might swallow more hours than it has any right to. After the Vault-Tec Workshop, Bethesda is releasing Nuka-World, which looks fantastic and substantial. They have already said that Nuka-World is going to be their last expansion.
