Ever since Christian Bale donned the cape and cowl, people have been wondering who the eventual next Batman would be. Speculation has been rampant since the announcement of the new Batman/Superman film, and Warner Bros. has finally revealed the new Caped Crusader. Ben Affleck, director/star of last year’s Best Picture winner Argo, has been cast as Bruce Wayne and his alter ego Batman. Via The Wrap, director Zack Snyder is anxious to work with Ben Affleck opposite Henry Cavill, saying:
Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.
The new film is being scripted by David Goyer, writer for Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and the recent Man of Steel. Christopher Nolan will not be involved as he was for Man of Steel.
What do you guys think? We’ll have our opinion later up today, but let’s hear what you guys think. Was Daredevil too much, or have superhero movies, as well as Affleck himself, matured to a proper point? Let us know.
