Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, previously an exclusive title for 3DS and Vita, joins its big brothers on home consoles today with a few bonuses. Armature’s take on the Arkham series was certainly an admirable one, and creatively condensed the core Arkham experience into a smaller, portable form. However, the formula didn’t move to handhelds perfectly. A clunky map system, less detailed environments and characters, and a strange lack of thugs considering the size and scale of Blackgate Penitentiary were common complaints about the game when it first arrived. With this new Deluxe Edition, many of those blemishes have been improved.
WB Games boasts “enhanced” graphics, a completely reworked map, new batsuits, enemy encounters, and difficulty levels, as opposed to the original game’s single difficulty. You can check out Blackgate’s new look in the gallery below.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate- Deluxe Edition is out now for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC in the Americas for $19.99 digitally. Other regions will get the game tomorrow.
