ASUS Lyra Wants To Improve Your WiFi Woes

ASUS Lyra

Home WiFi can, at times, be temperamental to put it lightly. While home internet speeds have gradually increased the translation of that speed over wireless networks has not always kept pace. ASUS looks to solve some of the most common problems with home WiFi with Lyra. The Lyra home WiFi is designed to make the process simple and effective.

The Problems with WiFi

Modern households have an increasing number of wireless devices that can cause for wireless congestion on your network. Adding to the frustration of WiFi is the environment. Doors, walls, floors, and windows which can interfere with radio signals and create the dreaded WiFi “dead spots”. Combining WiFi repeaters with your router to push the signal can get around these obstacles. These setups can cause frustration though as they often require additional configurations of devices, multiple WiFi names, and single-band traffic, which can only worse congestion.

The Lyra Solution

The ASUS Lyra solves these problems by using a tri-band WiFi mesh network with multiple interconnected hubs. The basic setup is that one primary hub is setup that is connected to the internet with additional satellite hubs. Because the Lyra uses three separate frequency bands, each hub only uses one frequency to communicate with the other hubs, leaving two bands free for your home devices to connect to.

Lyra also pays great attention to security of your network as well. A built in AiProtection software offers automatic regular and rapid-reaction updates to keep you always protected. The AiProtection software works “under the hood” of the device to protect the entire network. It uses an intrusion protection system (IPS) along with a deep packet inspector (DPI) engine that can analyze all packets on the network. The underlying software can then block malicious or suspicious packets, regardless of where they originate from.

ASYS Lyra

ASUS Lyra is designed to be easy to install and operate using the mobile app. The app connects to the Lyra via Bluetooth for setup and adding extra hubs. This will also allow full control of network settings. The app also includes Family Overview. This feature enables easy management of each user’s devices, internet usage allowances and app permissions.

Lyra is available now at leading retailers for $399.99. This price is for a pack of three hubs to get you started upgrading your home WiFi network.
