The ASTRO A50 gaming headset has been a popular model for several years.  To keep up with current technology and the demands of gaming ASTRO has updated the A50.  The new and improved ASTRO A50 wireless and base station features top-of-the-line acoustics, improved ergonomics and increased durability.The original A50s were released in 2012 and was both a critical and economic success for ASTRO.

The updated ASTRO A50 Wireless and Base Station has raised the bar over the previous model in every way.  It features a 5GHz wireless transmitter that provides clear, low-latency voice communication, while making headset pairing and charging simple.  In addition, an increased battery life allows for up to 15 hours on one charge, so no gaming session will be cut short. The new auto On/Off conserves battery life when not in use. In conjunction, Sleep Mode is toggled once the unit is picked up for additional battery savings. Dolby Headphone 7.1 surround sound provides optimal audio to pinpoint spacial accuracy; which is critical during gaming sessions.  A precise, noise cancelling boom mic is optimized for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Mac.  By the same token the mic uses flip-up mute functionality for muting voice output.

The ASTRO Base Station Transmitter features magnetic charging contacts for simple docking and charging. The base station also features indicators for battery life and surround sound status. Connecting the device includes TOSLink pass through, AUX input/output and USB for power and streaming on PC. A built-in MixAmp allows adjustment of audio levels such as Master volume and Game Voice balancing. Three EQ preset modes are available. ASTRO mode, tuned with precise bass for general gaming. Pro mode, tuned for precise mid and high detail for streaming and pro gaming. And Studio mode, neutral accuracy and best for movies and music. Customized EQ profiles can be built and shared with friends using the included ASTRO Command Center Software. Users can purchase additional leather ear cups and head straps for increased comfort and style.
