After a much needed break, the Assassin’s Creed machinery is starting to kick once again. Ubisoft has just announced that a new game, Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion, is heading its way to the world of mobile for iOS and Android.
Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion is a free-to-play title with strategy and role-playing elements, and it brings a roster of characters fans have come to love. From Ezio to Aguilar, the game features more than 40 assassins to choose from. There’s no release date on sight yet but Ubisoft has said that it’s coming “soon”.
We leave you here the teaser trailer that has accompanied the announcement. It does not give too much away but we can already see the construction layout that we have already experienced in Fallout Shelter. If this feels familiar is because Rebellion replicates the building mechanic that we saw on Fallout. Moreover, the development studio is Behaviour Interactive, the very same one that brought the thrills of vault management to our portable devices.
Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion in a Nutshell
The background for Rebellion takes place during the Spanish Inquisition – the same setting as in last year’s movie. Our task will be to collect and train assassins, doing so from our very own headquarters. These follow a grid structure in which the player can keep on building rooms. While managing our assassins, we’ll be able to send them over to different missions, receiving resources and ADN fragments in return. From what we know, it has everything in place to keep you hooked for a while.
With the announcement of Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Far Cry 5 and Beyond Good & Evil 2 in E3 this year, Ubisoft has gathered a lot of eyes again. The addition of a mobile game to their portfolio could well be another 2017 hit and take them even further. We’ll keep this one on our radars to ensure you know when it releases worldwide.
