Assassin's Creed IV Trailer Shows Impressive Open World

You can deride Assassin’s Creed all you want, but Ubisoft’s yearly stabbing sim has always impressed. This year’s entry in the series is no different, and looks to add much to the already fantastic experience. In the new trailer, narrated by Game Director Ashraf Ismail, the new assassin Edward shows off some exciting new abilities in not only executing his targets, but also in exploring and becoming an influential part of the world of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. In just a few minutes of gameplay, Edward has multiple ways of completing multiple objectives. Does he take both targets easily, or does he prolong the chase? Does he sink the enemies’ ship, or board it? More importantly, what does he do with the ship afterwards? These are the kinds of choices Ubisoft is leaving to the player. The trailer shows of much more of the game’s rich, detailed world, but I won’t spoil those surprises. Check out the trailer below.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will release October 29 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are confirmed for the launch of both systems, and a PC version is on the way, too, but will be released a few weeks after the current gen versions.
