Alan Wake 2 Is Likely To Exist At Some Point

Sam Lake, the studio’s creative director, said at Gamescom 2015 that Alan Wake 2 is never off the table.

Alan Wake was a cult classic, and boosted a special mechanic that a lot of games have since tried to emulate. Alan Wake put you in the shoes of the titular Alan Wake, who was armed with basic weaponry and a torch; the latter, however, is the most important. You are not fighting something tied to reality however, but instead the darkness and the monsters it creates. You, as the player, felt the light burning through the abominations you faced.

The game tugged at the sanity of the player with vicious contempt, and the psychological gameplay created a voracious fanbase. But, so far all the fans got was a little bit of concept art to whet their appetite, and the game seemed to fizzle into obscurity.

But, in an interview with Gamereactor Sam Lake re-sparked the flickering glimmer of hope fans have. He said in his interview:

“We’ve openly talked about our passion for Alan Wake, and we haven’t given up on that dream. So I’m really hoping that we’re able to see more Wake at some point.”

So, if you are a fan of the series, don’t give up hope just yet; we could see a new Alan Wake title at some point, and we can only hope it lives up to its predecessor’s cult status.
