Agony Slated for a 2017 Launch on PS4, Xbox One, & PC

Not to be confused with the 1992 Amiga title Agony, Madmind Studios brings us our first look into the descent towards Hell with their own game titled Agony.

Agony’s cryptic trailer and screenshots went live yesterday as they showed off bloody environments, a possible first look at our lost soul and the hint that we must find The Red Goddess. To what end? We have no clue but what we do know is that Agony’s visuals are incredible. Agony runs off Unreal Engine 4 and the team behind this game is no stranger to video game development either.

Madmind Studios is comprised of 9 veteran developers who have worked on recent AAA titles such as The Division, The Witcher 3, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 and more.

Madmind Studios’ Agony is a first-person survival horror game currently in development, where the player must explore their way through Hell while having no memory of why they are in such a horrid place. To survive in this place, players will need to make use of this tortured soul’s ability to control the other people he meets along the way. In addition, players can also control lesser minded demons as well and potentially acquire their skills.

The player will have to make use of this power and their wit to have any hope of  meeting The Red Goddess and escaping Hell. Seeing how Agony is a survival horror title, we may potentially see more puzzle solving elements than combat focus throughout the hellish journey. With very little to go on right now, Agony is just as much a mystery as the Red Goddess herself.

Madmind Studios’ Agony is slated for a 2017 release date and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
