The long-running Pokémon franchise is ready to add another destructively adorable fighter to the mix. Oh, and it’s covered in bowties! Sylveon, revealed today as one of the new Pokémon coming to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, is still a little clouded in mystery, but Nintendo has been giving out details all morning about the most manipulatively cute thing you’ll see all day.
According to the official reveal website, Sylveon is an evolution of the Eevee, which looks kind of like a fox bred together with a squirrel. Nintendo isn’t letting much else out at this time. We don’t know what it does, what type it is, or how at all this thing is supposed to weigh nearly 52 pounds.
There is, however, a video posted to the official Pokémon YouTube channel showing off what it will look like in-game and in combat. It hardly clears up confusion, especially for someone like me who has little to no experience with the brand, but there are some visually interesting one, like the playing card attack. Bizarrely, Sylveon can also shoot (summon?) fireballs and what appears to be a dark energy portal. It’s always been this strange, right?
