Killer Frost, Ares Officially Confirmed for Injustice: Gods Among Us

Another day, another bit of Injustice: Gods Among Us news, as we get closer to its April 16th launch. Though this information was revealed already through an errant tweet by someone at WB Games, now the publisher – along with developer Netherrealm Studios – has confirmed that Wonder Woman villain Ares and Firestorm nemesis Killer Frost will indeed be playable in Injustice: Gods Among Us, a fighting game featuring the heroes and villains of DC Comics and running on the same fighting engine as the excellent 2011 Mortal Kombat reboot.

In the video below, you’ll see them go one-on-one in a showcase of each character’s moves. It’s an entertaining fight, and some moves look particularly brutal, especially Ares‘ special move that makes one think of another DC property, 300.

As our extensive coverage over the past few weeks leading up to next week’s release on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U has shown, a cataclysmic event that destroys Metropolis leads Superman to do the unthinkable and take over the world for humanity’s own good. Naturally a few heroes and villains have a problem with this, and an insurgency led by Batman takes shape. It’ll be interesting to see Superman cast as a villain in such a prominent game releasing so close to his big movie reboot.
