Over the last couple weeks, 343 Industries has been adding a ton of new match types to the playlists experience for Halo 4 Matchmaking with Extraction, Team Throwdown and the Majestic Map Pack. While confirmed that the number of additional match types are going to slow down so focus can be drifted towards improving existing playlists, the current trend will continue with one more addition. Action Sack. Bravo, from 343, gave us an update today on what’s to come this Monday.
On Monday the week of 3/11, Spartan Ops continues with an encore of Episode 7. In War Games, 343 will be premiering the Team Action Sack playlist. A 4 vs. 4 playlist guaranteed to bring explosions, laughter and just the right amount of chaos (and possibly frustration) to these game types.
Here are some of the game modes we an expect soon:
Binary Slayer
Binary Slayer features decreased gravity, increased speed, sniping and lots and lots of thrusting.
Lightning CTF
Your starting weapon is the Light Rifle, one shot anywhere kills. With a 5 second respawn, touch Flag return and no motion sensor, Lightning CTF brings an entirely new CTF experience to Action Sack and Halo 4. Also, the Flag carrier keeps the Light Rifle out when running the Flag.
Rockets & Rails
This new game mode features 3 things only: Rocket Launchers, Railguns and Jet Packs. Oh, and lot’s of explosions.
Team Fiesta
Fiesta is back, so bring the party with lots of random weapons to kill and be killed by the entire Halo 4 sandbox in one single game mode.
I’m super excited for this playlist to go live. Lightning CTF sounds so off the wall. It’ll be a great challenge and change of pace from our regular style of CTF play. I’ve always been a huge fan of playing CTF and enjoyed the fact that we’re able to wield a pistol now in Halo 4 while carrying the flag. Now being able to carry the Light Rifle?! That’s going to change gameplay to a whole other level. I can’t wait.
For suggestions and new Action Sack game types, please head over to the War Games feedback section on Halo Waypoint and let 343 know what you think.
