If you liked Batman: Arkham City, you’re in luck… a new game in the Arkham series is coming this year.Tucked away in a call to investors, Time Warner CFO John Martin announced that the next game in the Batman: Arkham series, which includes Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, is coming out this year:
“And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise.”
What wasn’t announced was which consoles this game will be released on, including the Wii U and the expected next generation of PlayStation and Xbox machines, nor do we know if it will be hitting PC. What we do know is that the game will most likely take place in the “Silver Age” of comics, in a prequel that many assume will be a story that sees the creation of Arkham Asylum take place.
The Batman: Arkham series has been a gold mine for Warner Bros. Interactive and developers Rocksteady… Both Asylum and City got overwhelmingly positive reviews, and each were among the most popular titles on both PS3 and Xbox 360 at the time of their respective releases. When more info about this new title comes out, we’ll pass it along.
