In 2006, the prospect of a new 2D Mario game was inspiring, and Nintendo somehow managed to live up to fan expectations that had been building since Super Mario World launched with the Super Nintendo. In 2009, Mario did it again. Now, he’s hoping to make the triple-jump in three dimensions with a new entry in the New Super Mario Bros. series, titled New Super Mario Bros. 2.
In a recent livestream event, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata pulled back the curtain on the newest Super Mario Bros. game.
