It looks as if Sony wants to take a wait and see approach to what its competition is doing. This information comes from Sony France boss Philippe Cardon who was recently interviewed by lepoint.fr. The interview was translated by Eurogamer.
“It’s true that there are a lot of rumours, but I can’t tell you anything,” He goes on to say. “The Wii is under time pressure because it’s in decline. As far as we’re concerned, we’re under a lot less pressure. We were the last to release the PS3, we will probably be the last to announce something.”
At last years E3 Nintendo announce their new platform the Wii U, and so far it is slated for a release sometime this year. Microsoft have been keeping mum on their next gen plans, however it is strongly rumored that it will make an appearance at this years E3, and be released next year.
Sony is already planning the launch of their new handheld which releases in the states on the 22nd of February. So as of now that looks to be the only console we will see from Sony in quite a while
