We got the chance to check out the added Kinect functionality of our most anticipated game of 2012, Mass Effect 3. Now having personally played through both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 multiple times I was considerable worried about the addition of Kinect support to Mass Effect 3, however after we got our hands (and voices) on the game my fears have been quenched.
First of all, the Kinect functionality is optional, meaning any complaints that arise from gamers would be completely unwarranted. Now, why you would not want to use the feature is beyond me. The voice recognition in the game is accurate to the point where it borders on creepy, and yesterday we got confirmation from Bioware that the game supports Australian and British English alongside (regular?) English as well as French, Italian, and German, now the first person to post a video of them yelling at one of their teammates in German will be fanatically rewarded!
All jokes aside the Mass Effect 3 Kinect demonstration made me eat my own words, so check out the trailer below which highlights some of the commands you can say.
